Data Protection

The Pierino Ambrosoli Foundation operates this website for the purpose of informing the public about its activities. The website can be visited and used without having to provide personal data. Nevertheless, a visit to any website, including ours, leaves behind traces of data that are considered personal data. We would like to inform you about this here.

It goes without saying that we handle this data confidentially and in accordance with the applicable Swiss data protection laws. Should provisions of the EU General Data Protection Regulation also apply in individual cases, we will also observe these.

Firstly, when visiting the website, so-called server logs are created, which are records of the time of a visit, the IP address of the connection and the browser and operating system of the visitor's device, request type (e.g. GET or POST), path, HTTP version, status code. This information is used to investigate errors or possible misuse in the usage, to track processes and thus to improve the security and operation of the website. It is routinely deleted after one year if it is no longer needed for these purposes.

Secondly, the website sets so-called cookies when you visit it. Cookies do not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies are used to make our website more user-friendly, effective and secure (functional cookies) and to analyse the use of our website (tracking cookies, see “analytics” below). Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer by your browser. Most of the cookies we use are so-called "session cookies". They are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your end device until you delete them. These cookies enable us to recognise your browser on your next visit. You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies, allow cookies only in individual cases, disallow the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general, or set the browser so that cookies are automatically deleted when closing the browser. However, if you deactivate cookies, this may impair the functionality of the website.

Thirdly, Google Analytics analysis service is built into the website. It is used to analyse the use of our website. Google Analytics is operated in Switzerland by Google Ireland Limited, Dublin, Ireland. Further information on data protection in connection with this can be found here: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/, here: http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html and here: https://www.google.com/intl/de_de/analytics/. The data collected with this service may also be exchanged with servers in the USA and other countries. We use Google Analytics with so-called IP masking in order to minimise personal reference to the greatest extent possible.

Fourthly, the website contains links to the Foundation's presences in various social media (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube). By clicking on these links, the visitor switches from our website to the service of the respective social media operator, where the latter is responsible for data protection (for YouTube, this is also Google, as mentioned; for Facebook and Instagram, it is Facebook Ireland Ltd., Dublin, Ireland, and data protection notices can be found here:

https://de-de.facebook.com/about/privacy/, here: https://www.instagram.com/about/legal/privacy/, and here: https://help.instagram.com/155833707900388. It is important to know that when such a link to social media is called up, the information about the visit to us also reaches its operator; and - if the visitor has a user account on the social medium in question and is logged in there - the operator can link this to the user profile there. If you want to prevent this, log out of your social media user account when visiting our website.

Our website is maintained and hosted in Switzerland by a professional service provider, who is legally and contractually obliged to observe the same rules as we do when handling personal data on our behalf. It also uses state-of-the-art technology to ensure the legally required security of data processing against misuse, loss, manipulation and other data protection incidents.

We consider that we have a legitimate interest in collecting and processing personal data as described above in offering our website, and that this is not regularly in conflict with any overriding interest of visitors. Persons whose personal data is processed in connection with the operation of the website have the legal right to free information about this data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the data processing, as well as a right to correction, and if necessary (unless we have an overriding, legally protected reason for further use) also to blocking or deletion of this data. Concerning this, or for further questions on the subject of personal data, you can contact us at the address provided under Website Credits.
