Laurent, winner of the Prix de la Florence J. Gould Foundation at the Paris International Ballet Competition, was born in the South of France.
His early studies take place at the Rosella Hightower's school in Cannes, where he studies ballet and contemporary dance as well as acting and music.
His first professional opportunity with the Jeune Ballet de France takes him all over the world: in one year he performs in Venezuela, Cuba, Norway and Malaysia.

For two years Laurent has dances with the Compagnie Philippe Trehet, based in the city of Le Havre, France.
In the Paris competition he dances solos choreographed by Trehet.
The Pierino Ambrosoli Foundation enables Laurent a one-year dancer's contract with the Compagnie LINGA based in Pully, Switzerland, in the 1998-99 season.
