Erika was born in Torino. At the age of seven she begins her ballet classes at the school of Mrs. Egri.
After three years she switches to the ballet school of Dzagica Zarch.
1988 Erika graduates from the Liceo and joins with a scholarship of the Pierino Ambrosoli Foundation the Schweizerische Ballettberufsschule Zurich under the direction of Ann Wooliams, later Pierre and Ljuba Dobrievitsch.

1991 Erika becomes a member of the Ballet Français de Nancy under the direction of Pierre Lacotte.
Then she receives an engagement at the Vienna State Opera Ballet until 1996.
