Alessandro comes from Rancio Valcuvia, a northern Italian municipality in the province of Varese, in the Lombardy region.
At the age of eleven, he gets his first ballet training at the ballet school of ABC by Cosi Stefanescu until he is accepted at the Ballet School of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan in 1988.

In 1990 takes place the acceptance at the Schweizer Ballettberufsschule SBBS in Zurich under the direction of Ljuba and Pierre Dobrievitsch.
For that school year the Pierino Ambrosoli Foundation grants Alessandro a scholarship.
